Convening the Worldwide Community of Practice:
Reducing Major Morbidities in the NICU
Registration for the Vermont Oxford Network Annual Quality Congress and preconference is officially open! This is a unique opportunity for neonatal caregivers
from every discipline to learn with and from visionary leaders, faculty members, and frontline practitioners from the U.S. and beyond who are deeply
committed to the work of this vibrant community of practice.
We have assembled a world-class faculty (bios), an agenda with cutting edge
clinical topics, valuable formal and informal networking opportunities—including our acclaimed VON Learning Fair poster session and NICU Tube
Fest—and time for fun at the always popular social event, the Halloween-inspired Zombie Ball.
New this year is a special preconference event on Friday, October 31: “Saving Lives With Teamwork: Guidance From Team Science.” Eduardo Salas PhD and neonatologist
Sheri Carroll MD convene an interactive workshop where you will explore practical strategies to create highly productive and functional care and quality teams.
Whether you are an individual team member, a center striving to expand your QI capacity, or a leader launching a new team, this workshop will jump-start your important work.
Also new this year—onsite visits to Chicago NICUs.
And on October 31, the NICQ Next Collaborative and iNICQ Intensive teams already deeply engaged with VON in our quality-improvement
collaboratives will come together to learn, share, and improve at the NICQ Symposium.
Scholarship opportunities are available. We welcome TECaN members to apply for the AAP VON Scholars Award; neonatal nurses may apply for the Kathy Leahy Scholarship.
The Annual Quality Congress and preconference events will take place at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers, and the room block is now open for hotel reservations.
